Cages and mesh

Postby r7oky » Sun Feb 17, 2008 5:21 pm

Hi i have posted some posts before about myself getting a cockatoo as a friend for my existing grey, i have a very large cage with central divider, however i want to create more of a barrier between the to sides of the cage to prevent toe pecking from each of the birds.

Does anyone know where i can get some rigid mesh like that of cages, i didnt want to go down the line of chickhen types meash but wanted something rigid and of a bigger gauge.
Anyone know where i can get this type of mesh?

Thanks

Ricky

Try a good Garden Centre for sheets of twilweld mesh as used for climbing plants you can get it in severel thicknesses make sure you leave at least a two inch gap between each bird to stop feet being bitten.

Do you have a grill at the base of the cage? If so you could always use this and simply fix it inside at a suitable distance. as this is the correct width for the cage it would not be to difficult to fasten in position, plus it would be the same colour/paint as the cage.
