Two females in sepparate cages - reunite again possible?

Post by Pamawat59 » Thu Jun 29, 2017 7:02 am

Hello the Community!
I would appreciate help on this matter. I have 2 female lovebirds approx 1 1/2 ys old, a Fischers (Pears) and a Peach Faced (Apples), bought already bonded when young from a reputable store. We all thought one was male and the other female as the Peach faced was a bit more dominant and exhibited twiggs in tail feathers syndrome. Very funny!. Became a bit aggresive to the smaller Fischers. So we decided to separate them and give them individual cages but always next to each other. They started laying eggs and by now the Peach Faced, apples, has laid 3 and the Fischers, Pears, 4. However, they clearly miss each other and always sit as close together as 2 cages will permit - I have placed perches so they could. They also chat a lot to each other. Will it ever be possible to reunite them in one cage, possibly a much larger one? My husband is quite handy and could build a much larger bespoke one. Thanks for any advice.
Bye, Patricia.
