Hi Kidders,

Hmm, aviary roofs, not the easiest for us DIY guys to deal with.
The obvious and probably the best is box section roofing
Like whats in the link below - as you can get both solid and clear which fully interlock providing a very good water seal, and they come in lengths up to 3.5 metres.

The other option, is going for good old fashioned corrugated stuff, Onduline is the preferred stuff thee days, ready available from screwfix, and then mix this with polycarb for the clear sections

I used wood and felt with conservatory panels for the clear sections on my bird house, but I somewhat regret it, but the other options were just so much more expensive - the carriage on the large roof sheets for such a small order was too much to make it worht while.

Similarly, for such an area as you intend to cover, I don't give you much chance of coming in under budget.
Let us know how you get on.

Oh dear I cannot access the photos.
If you go onto Reszie website you can shrink them down and then save & copy imagine to the photobucket site, from there you should be able to download on here. Unless anyone knows different?

Excellent... well done, what a lot of work but well worth the result. You must be very pleased with it.

Hi Kidders,

Looks like you made a good job of it.
Glad you got the photos on.
I'm thinking I need to do the same with mine now. We build these aviaries, and theres always some corner you cut. Mine was using Chinese ply and felt on the roof. A few severe winters and after 5 years it's already showing the signs.

Just need to convince the wife, replacing the aviary roof is more important than the new kitchen.......
