Breathy Episodes

Post by tolkeintotty » Mon Jan 04, 2016 10:42 am

I'm hoping someone can offer some advice or perhaps point me in the direction of someone who can? I have a 7 1/2 year old male CAG. He gets 'breathy' episodes, with a little wheeze. Recently he has been making coughing sounds. We re-homed him and know he's had quite a mis-handled and troubled past. Can CAGs suffer from frequent panic episodes? We've tried and changed everything we think may be causing these attacks but he's been very quiet now for a month or so. We had a vet home visit and after an hour they couldn't see to him because he's so nervous and won't let them near him. He had a course of anti-biotics which seemed to perk him up but he's down again. AS he gets so stressed the process of putting him into his carrier and taking him to the vets would be equally traumatic to him and may make him really poorly. We're at as loss really and I know he's not well. Do you know of any particular specialist who can give us any advice?
Thanks again, Sarah
