Yellow headed kakariki

Post by Manders » Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:23 pm

Is anybody out there breeding anything close to pure bred cyanoramphus auriceps (yellow fronted kakariki)? Most of what i see around are obvious hybrid rubbish but hopefully there are some pure bred birds still about, anyone?

Dear Manders.

It s is becoming relatively difficult to find pure NORMAL strains of a lot of birds these days. A result of the wild importation bans imposed on us.
With respect to Kakarikis, David Coombes, the PSUK chairman keeps them and he is a purist when it comes to normal strains so he may very well know of someone who has them.
his details can be found at the following page on our website

All the best.
