New advice seeked for green cheek conure

Post by Teb24 » Fri Aug 03, 2012 2:53 pm

I'm new on this site and hopefully posted on correct part.

I have an 11 year old green cheek conure who is typical cheeky boy.

I've raised him from being a baby and obviously with life as it is now have kids, dogs etc.

Recently he has been burying himself under his newspaper and tapping his beak, Oliver normally likes his attention and demonstrates quite vocally when he wants some but he's not been so attentive of late. He is cleaned out once a day and is fed twice daily and is let out daily as well, his favourite past time is to torment my dogs by throwing them food :0).

My concern is that I think his behaviour is because he is bored? And I was wondering would it be the correct thing to do to introduce another green cheek so he has a companion? But I am unsure if he is too old now and set in his ways.

Really appreciate some advice.

Best wishes
