Insurance

I have a question on insurance. I am currently with Exotic Direct but I am aware of Golden Valley who seem to be less expensive. Can anyone share experience / advice on these two companies? It seems that Golden Valley has better coverage. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Looking for Cockatiel Breeders in Birmingham Area

Hello - I am looking for suggestions for a breeder located in the Birmingham area. I know a person looking for a young hand tame male cockatiel to be a mate to his tame hen. Any suggestions?

Re: Hair Plucking!

My congo african grey is doing the same thing and I would say it probably is a dominance issue. I will be diligent in trying to unlearn this behaviour because she will jump on anyone's head!

Re: CAn grapes produce toxins

I have not heard anything like that. The only strange thing I heard was someone made birdie bread with raisins and all the parrots dies after eating. Grapes should be ok in moderation. And as mentioned, wash thoroughly as you would any fruit or vegetable, including organic produce. The goodness of t...

Re: harrys home coming

Congratulations on your new arrival. My grey came home at 13 weeks and has been with me for 10 months now. The changes in such a short time are amazing. I have a t-stand along with the stand on top of the cage but she spends most time with me, either on the couch or on a suspended rope from the ceil...

Re: an update if anyone is interested

My CAG is confirmed female and is just now one year old. When I visited her before she came home at about 9 weeks she nipped me what I thought was pretty hard - now I know better - and told the breeder oh that bird is a bit bitey. He said they had just woken up and were a bit grumpy (makes sense) so...

Re: Parrot Insurance

I have Exotic Direct - has anyone have any experience with Golden Valley? They are less expensive but I would like to see if anyone has been with them and any opinions.

Re: clipped or not

I considered a clip when I brought my CAG home in August, 2008. My vet pretty much said they would not do it and I can say I am glad I did not have it done! I think my parrot is far more confident and has learned to fly fairly well even considering I do not have lots of room. And I have heard too ma...

Hello everyone - my name is Virginia and I live near Llantrisant, South Wales. I have a CAG, a cockatiel, and a budgie. I joined the Society in March and just wanted to introduce myself and say hello. I am looking for other members in the area to share experiences with. I will do my best to attend t...
